Glamor of this life

Its 3 am.

I am heading to ojai now - and in order to get there, I have to fly at 630 am. Thus, I am here at Logan airport wearing sweats and lying on a about 7 ottoman like seats I've put together to form a "bed". My bed I just at the head of the food court near the united terminal and I am sandwiched between the burger kind and famous famiglia pizza.

I've tried closing my eyes but alas, I will not sleep. I might sleep for the next 24 hours.

Airports this size don't close, but they are not exactly open either. No place is open to get a bite, and the amiable tsa folks don't open again until 4.

So - I sit here and listen to my ipod through active noise canceling speakers.

See you on the other coast.

Whirlwind

So I am back, sort of, from sundance. I am now in falmouth, mass (cape cod theater project) working on annie baker's NOCTURAMA. We have a great cast and I dig the way we were working yesterday. Slowly and steadily.

Annie's humor is terrific, but it can be tricky. This play has a depressed guy at its center - and the trick is figuring out to what extent he is really depressed and to what extent faking it. In a way, he's a failed artist (a drummer) who is really only good at this performance piece of depression.

Loving the gang: guy, deborah, chernus and quincy.

More later.
