But more importantly. Here I am blogging - rather than keeping a journal. Not that I am doing a good job at it. But I can do it. To do it completely I'd need a different phone - one with a camera. I could really be documenting my journey. Instead, I'll have to backtrack and add my photos later.
There's a lot of them. Mostly of buildings. This town's architecture - new architecture - is shattering. Magnificent modern dwellings - one after the other - where the emphasis is on light and space but function as well. I have no idea what I am writing about - I like architecture - but have no real basic knowledge.
Which I guess all leads to my point. By traveling, I feel reawakened to colors, light and space. Riding a bike in this city - so peculiar and different from america's cities - stimulates me and makes me hungry to create.
That and the weather which has changed three times already. It was gorgeous and clear earlier - then a storm came through - and then it cleared - now the next little drizzling has ended.
I've spent my morning on christianshavn. Which is across the way from the center part of copenhagen. It's a harbor and I find myself sitting having a carlsberg and a chicken smorrebrod at around 1 pm on a canal. When I first biked over I went south along the waterfront and it was a series of spectacular new dwellings. For the rich?
Then eventually, after a fanta, I went to christiana which is an anarchist commune of sorts. Its always weird (raining again) voyeuristically gazing in a situation like that (no photos permitted). The folks that live there are hippies and junkies as far as I could see. Made me sad. And made me want to leave. So I did.
So more photos of buildings. There's an orange outdoor paint that I only see on b uildings in europe. Itd look great somewhere (on a set, on my wall). But I have a feeling that its a weatherstripping effect that nature alone can manufacture
Off to the jewish musuem, then the design museum and hopefully a bikeride before returning the bike.
Is it hailing?
