Is there anything like that for director's beyond the director's lab. Or the soho rep writer/directors lab? I wonder.
Is there a community of directors out there that gets together? Would directors want this?
It's obviously a different ball of wax since, well, what would we get together to do? Direct each other? No. But we could socialize, talk theater, see something.
Trouble is: we are often in our own rooms, doing our own things. So its not as easy. Still, I wonder...

My husband was in the same writers' group for twenty years. At first, yes, they were reading work and commenting on it. But as they all started working as screenwriters (not just aspiring, you know?) it became about strategizing, talking about people they were meeting with, how to handle situations with agents, producers, and so on...seems like this latter version would be totally relevant to your life...
Hey - thanks for your comment, and your frequent perusal. THere are a couple of director friends who are interested. My brother and a group of friend out in LA used to get together in their salad days on thursdays. This included among others, Alexander Payne and a bunch of guys who are all now flourishing in their careers as writers and directors.
