The first scene was humming along. In the dark, waiting for the drawbridge to come down, I heard nothing. And then a crack. House lights came on and the actors left the stage. Marian came out and addressed the audience. We took a twenty minute intermission in a play that has none. I was pretty bummed - but I was pretty proud of the performance considering. And there is not a thing I'd have changed about the design. The td believes he's solved the problem.
Oddly enough, I had an inkling of a premonition. though given that the show has firearms I am relieved that the bridge not coming down was the extent of the debacle.
The audience seemed to dig it. I can only imagine what their reaction might have been had the second scene opened without a hitch.
Ah well.
